dramas have become a big part of my life.... :D
I started watching dramas on my last birthday, Jan 24 when I was over at a friend's house and she said, ''let's watch 200 pound beauty!!" and I said what is thaaat??
then I learned of mysoju.com......my life changed forever....
not only was I able to watch these awesome series but I was also able to see and learn how Japanese was used casually....no really, dramas have taught me tons of Japanese :D it truly is a great way to learn a language...not only Japanese but Taiwanese and Korean.
my favorite dramas are the ones that...leave this empty space inside after i finish watching them. there's this true, deep understanding that i cannot obtain unless i watch it over and over. this is the feeling that makes me love the drama... but I also like love stories :D those really, ''magical'' love stories. plus high school type of shows are good for me.
here is a list of my current all time fave dramas and the order is as of RIGHT NOW...
1. Boku Dake no Madonna...And I Still Love Her (Jap)
2. Love Contract (Taiwanese)
3.1 Litter of Tears (Jap)
4. Akai Ito (Jap)
5. It Started With A Kiss (season 1)/They Kiss Again (season 2) (Tai)
6. 3 Peace! (Jap)
7. 14 Sai No Haha (Jap)
8. Hana Yori Dango (Jap)
9. Nobody Knows (Jap movie)
10. Seigi no Mikata (Jap)
so there they are, my current top 10. as you can obviously see, my faves are Japanese and Taiwanese dramas. and yes, i dont really like Korean dramas because...it's not...real..that can be argueable but seriously, i do not like how Koreans act in their dramas. I need real emotions.
Boku Dake no Madonna, if you have seen, is pretty sweet. :D
it is a cute drama. a college student who encounters a 26 yr old woman in his room who got in from the window and her purpose? to keep watch at the guy (previous lover) who lives across from the college student.
i like the stirred-up feelings i get every time i finish an episode. the background music that is played in each episode helps you really get in the mood and keeps you anticipated. my favorite OST is called "Run in the Rain". it has a mysterious feel to the music but it is also very dramatic, as in it is very serious, thought-provoking and I noticed after watching the serious twice that this music is played where two of the characters have odd encounters with something or if they are feeling down. for example...
the 26 yr old woman, Surumi, is in love with this guy who is about to get married. Surumi becomes the college student, Kyon's ''room-mate'' in order to get a look at her lover's face everyday from across the window. according to Surumi, when she and her lover were young, he promised to make her his wife....now...now that they are older and have gone their separate ways, Surumi still has that promise in her mind and she still loves him. When the guy finds out that Surumi is breaking into Kyon's apartment everyday to look at him, he gets ''angry'' ... cept that his fiance is a bit mooore angry (XD). Kyon develops feelings for Surumi due to her natural femenisim and all that...stuff.. (she's pretty cute) but he is confused because Surumi comes to Kyon to take advangate of the whole window thing and she leads him on to think she might possibly like him. but she has this lover who is going to get married. after many apartment-break-ins, Kyon is pretty upset and Surumi has completely taken over the apartment and his heart (XD) and he tells her to give him back his keys and..go home. at this point in the drama, Surumi is also very confused towards her feelings for her lover. The guys fiance is also angry at him because he has been worried for and concerned about Surumi's depression. over all, everyone in the drama is confused....
soo ''Run in the Rain'' is played in this episode when Kyon kicks out Surumi and tells her he doesnt want to deal with her. When she leaves the apartment and is outside on her way home, the fiance is going towards her apartment! AKWARD MOMENT! the fiance is then realy furious...while Surumi is pretty heart-broken and sad... (music in background) the fiance says something like, leave me and my fiance's life alone. dont disturb other people's lives. havent you done enough?
when she says havent you done enough? she meant that Surumi has been confusing people ever since she first broke into Kyon's apartment. everyone has been confused about who she really was and what she really wanted. in the end, she ends up messing up Kyon's relationship with another girl while also messing up her lover's relationship with his fiance.
while the music is playing.. Surumi is really sad now cuz she was just told to leave by Kyon and is now being told to stay away from other people by the other woman. but in reality, Surumi is in desperate need of Kyon's company. (in the end, she decides that she only has Kyon in her heart...awww)
anyway, it is a great drama to watch if you really like...drama XD it is also very KAWAIIII :D
if you are like me, you might end up liking the music more than the actual drama XD
oh and, if you like Tackey and Tsubasa, then how awesome is it to watch Tackey (takizawa hideaki) act when he was younger and cuter!!!?!?! ^^ (he plays the main lead, Kyon)
i might want to talk about the other 9 dramas i have on that list. maybe some other time...
till then,
jaa ne!
